Coaching and Counseling

Counseling creates a space for honest self-exploration in a non-judgmental atmosphere where you feel valued, heard, and respected. It enables you to gain greater insight into your emotions, thoughts and behaviors and explore new ways of being. It gives you the opportunity to let go of old ways of defining yourself, develop greater confidence, satisfaction and a sense of well-being in your life.

My ideal client wants to move beyond venting to create real change in their life. You commit to showing up, doing the work, and are looking for the clinician with the right set of skills, strategies, and style, to accompany you on this journey.

Our sessions may facilitate your understanding and movement through past events that continue to surface, as we explore new responses that begin to create new results. We work on improving relationships, dealing with conflict, identifying and advocating for your own needs. Most clients want to feel more in control of their emotions/moods, more effectively manage stress, worry, and anxiety, and feel more satisfied with their lives.

My work is grounded in mindfulness which can help you become more self-aware of habitual thoughts and feelings. I utilize Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) in our work, a set of skills and strategies that strengthen emotion regulation, our ability to move through difficult interactions and situations more effectively and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), which is based on the idea that how we think (cognition), how we feel and how we act (behavior) all interact together. It’s powerful to understand how our thoughts affect our emotions and behaviors and to begin to challenge the accuracy of some thoughts.

Coaching is a collaborative and solution focused partnership that stays focused in the present and enables you to define and create the future you desire. I work with you to develop greater focus, clarity and direction by asking questions that enable you to gain greater knowledge about who you are and what is of value to you.

Coaching questions create opportunities for you to deepen your understanding of yourself and the path forward. At times, I function like a mirror, reflecting your thoughts, ideas, desires, allowing you to more fully see and hear yourself, beginning to more confidently express your voice. I provide honest, non-judgmental feedback, support and accountability.

As you gain clarity about your goals, you begin to define a plan, step by step, hat moves you toward this future. As you step out of your comfort zone, you move past old barriers and challenge beliefs that have held you back. You discover your strengths. Coaching allows you to explore a life that is about openings and opportunities.
